STATEMENT COLDSTREAM KIDS CHARITY 6TH DECEMBER 2006:
Fellow Coldstreamers Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the terrific support I have received from Coldstreamers.co.uk along with the Middlesbrough and Shiny Capstar Websites as without these message boards the Coldstream Kids Charity would not have developed into what it is today and will hopefully be in the future. It is important The Coldstream Family and Community work together towards a common bond in supporting children of Coldstreamers both past and present and it is hoped the charity will become instrumental in providing an additional element of support to the infrastructure already provided through RHQ Coldstream Guards, Regimental Welfare and the many Regimental Association Branches throughout the UK and Canada. It is also important to mention the sense of Guardsmanship I have witnessed from Coldstreamers worldwide who through their own individual generosity and the many Re-Orgs throughout the UK, have donated considerably in support of Coldstream Kids. The charity will soon have its own website which goes live after Christmas and can be viewed on:- http://www.coldstreamkids.org.uk I have also provided a private link so people can view the site whilst under development. The site is currently 1/2 way through construction as there is much information to be gathered in respect of each individual page. To view the link mentioned, please log onto:- http://www.coldstreamkids.org.uk/website/index.php where you can view the pages and info which are already complete. One of the features of the new website will be the Coldstream Chat Message Board Forum: This will be the new home of all information relating to the Coldstream Kids Charity and its fund raising events. It will also be another message board for Ex and serving Coldstreamers for general chat and much more. Please log onto the site which is now active and take a few minutes to register so you can then post on the site. Please Note: Once you have completed your registration, you will be sent a registration confirmation email. You then need to click on the activation link which will activate your registration to post on the site. Please log onto the new Coldstream Chat Message Forum on:- http://www.coldstreamkids.co.uk/forum/index.php Good luck and I look forward to seeing some familiar names posting on the site. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and I hope we can all work towards establishing Coldstream Kids as a Charity we can be proud of. Fellow Coldstreamers,
As you are aware, there is much work currently underway on a number of fronts to ensure everything is in place before the Coldstream Kids Charity goes fully operational. As always, I will do my best to keep everyone up to date on all information regarding the charity.
Our documentation for application for charity status has been reviewed by professionals and is in good order and we hope to submit this information early next week. I'm sure people are thinking, how long does this take and weren't we at this stage a few months ago. In answer to this, yes we were but one thing I have learnt whilst carrying out this work is that there is always something else that needs to be covered or added and things are never as simple as they seem..etc.
One thing I picked up being an ex Guardsman is that you never get a second chance to make a first impression and making sure everything is right is what really matters. To rush things through in haste because you want everything up and running and to have not covered all your angles would not be right. I have a responsibility to make this a professional organization which everyone can have confidence in and hope when you view the link provided to the latest page on the Official Coldstream Kids Website you will fully understand how it has taken the time it has to approach the people concerned and recruit them into the ranks of what I hope can be a worthwhile cause going forward.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this venture, for keeping my energy going, as without you we wouldn't be where we are with a Coldstream Charity of our own in support of children of Coldstreamers past and present.
Kindest Regards
Franco
P.S. I am hoping the site you are about to view will be fully active by the end of next week so thank you for your patience and understanding.

Fellow Coldstreamers,
Thank you for your messages of support which I deeply appreciate. Without your backing we wouldn't be where we are today and I have to admit, there was times I felt the pressure as I didn't want to let anyone down.
Being able to establish a charity which is our own and which will help our children and families, is something which gives me great satisfaction. I feel honored to have served in our regiment and proud that we can all play a part in helping one another in the future.
Thank you once again for helping this dream become a reality and please find our registered number below.

Fellow Coldstreamers,
I would like to bring everyone upto speed on the latest developments regarding the charity and its fundraising initiatives.
New Website: Following discussions earlier in the year it was decided the charity would no longer use an outside agency to administer and update the charities website which was formerly listed as http://www.coldstreamkids.co.uk The new website which is now listed with a .org.uk address will now reflect its charity status at no cost to the charity other than annual registration. The new website which can be found on http://www.coldstreamkids.org.uk is now being run and administered by Malcolm Finkill.
Due to Mac's tireless work and committment to this project, we now have a website that allows us to operate in a manor which others have come to expect.
Some benefits of this move are listed as follows.
1, Online donation facility 2, Online Shop 3, Online Auctions 4, Quarterly Newsletter On All Aspects Of The Charities Work 5, Daily / Weekly Info Updates Where necessary 6, Links To All Information Which Is Coldstream Kids & Coldstream Guards Related. Please view the site as we continue to strive towards providing a service to Coldstream Children we can be proud of.

Hadrian's Wall Challenge DVD Offer: The Hadrian's Wall Challenge DVD has been selling well at £10 and thanks to Patrick McNeils production company at http://www.wayoutproductions.co.uk we now have a trailer which can be viewed on the following link. Click to view trailer. Anyone wishing to purchase a copy then please contact me on the following:
Email: franco@coldstreamkids.org.uk Phone: 07930 360 010
The £10 purchase price is inclusive of postage and packaging for those based in the UK.
I would like to take this opportunity in thanking and praising the efforts of former Coldstreamer Patrick McNeil and his colleague Tim Constable for their unselfish efforts and generosity in supporting Coldstream Kids. Patricks work on the Hadrian's Wall DVD and his planning for next years Great Glen Challenge are to be admired. Patrick is currently working on a project Coldstream related which he will be bringing to everyone's attention shortly which I'm sure will impress many.
The Great Glen Walk September 2009 Preparation for this event is well under way with all team members now in place. Training for this challenge will start shortly along with fundraising. Last years Hadrian's Wall Challenge raised an amazing total of £23,000 which we hope to improve on this time round.
Please view our new website for more info on http://www.coldstreamkids.org.uk
